About Church of St. Mary of the Angels

St Mary of the Angels started as a small Franciscan chapel and friary in the 1950s. By the late 1990s, the congregation had grown to over 5000 people in some 1200 families. It was clear that the church was no longer adequate to meet the need of parishioners and a decision taken to redevelop the site. Construction started in 1999 and was completed in September 2003. In February 2004, Archbishop Nicholas Chia officiated at the dedication of the new church.
